Suresh Oberoi Recalls Door-to-Door Struggle for Vivek’s Debut
Suresh Oberoi wanted to help his son Vivek become an actor.
He said he carried Vivek’s photographs from place to place looking for an opportunity.
Suresh was working with director Ram Gopal Varma at the time.
Varma was searching for an actor for a movie called Company.
He asked to see a recording of Vivek acting at his institute.
Varma watched the recording at the Oberoi family home and was impressed.
Vivek then made his movie debut in Company in 2002.
Suresh said he became so proud while watching the film that he cried.
Vivek later recalled that his early theatre career included a performance where an audience member threw a shoe at him.
