RBI Governor Cites Geopolitical, Trade, Cyber Risks To Financial System

India's top banker, Sanjay Malhotra, spoke about things that could hurt the country's money system in the next few years.

He said fights in West Asia, arguments about trade between countries, and computer hackers are the biggest worries.

But he told everyone not to panic, because India's banks are very strong and can handle these problems.

Indian banks have lots of extra money saved up and very few loans that people cannot pay back.

He also said countries in a group called BRICS are talking about making it cheaper and faster to send money between their countries.

They might use special digital money or connect their fast payment systems to do this.

Malhotra also talked about artificial intelligence, which is like smart computer software.

He said banks should make AI a big part of their plans from the very top, not just buy new tools.

He warned that AI can be unfair if it copies old mistakes, and banks must always stay responsible for their own decisions.

He ended by saying banks that wait to use AI will find it changes them anyway.
