Spain earns record $51 million in FIFA World Cup
Spain won the FIFA World Cup and got $51 million.
That's a lot more than what all the teams in the Cricket World Cup got together.
Argentina, which came second, got $34 million.
Even the teams that didn't make it very far got some money.
For example, teams that got knocked out in the early stages still got $10 million.
This is the biggest prize money ever for a football tournament.
It's also more than what the cricket teams got for their whole tournament.
The football teams get this money from FIFA, and then they share it with the players and staff.
Spain won the FIFA World Cup and received $51 million, the largest prize in football history.
Argentina, the runner-up, earned $34 million, a $4 million increase over the previous tournament's runner-up prize.
Every team that qualified for the tournament was guaranteed at least $12.5 million, including a $10 million participation fee and a $2.5 million preparation grant.
The total prize pool for the FIFA World Cup was $871 million, a record amount.
The prize money for the Cricket World Cup was significantly lower, with a total prize pool of $11.25 million, and India, the winner, received $3 million plus a ₹131 crore bonus from the BCCI.
