NCB Seizes Rs 5 Crore Ephedrine in Courier Parcels
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai stopped three packages sent to New Zealand and found a drug called ephedrine worth Rs 5 crore hidden inside.
The packages had fake papers.
The NCB caught a man named S Hameed in Chennai who was part of this drug smuggling group.
They also found tools and fake IDs at his place.
The NCB is still trying to find out where the drugs came from and who else is involved.
They asked people to call a special helpline if they know anything about drugs.
NCB intercepted three courier parcels bound for New Zealand containing ephedrine worth Rs 5 crore.
7 kg of ephedrine was found hidden in floor mats and cloth rolls in the first two parcels.
A person named S Hameed was arrested in Chennai with incriminating documents and tools.
Another 3.99 kg of ephedrine was found in a parcel intercepted in Kalyan, Maharashtra.
The NCB is investigating the source of the ephedrine and other members of the trafficking network.
