CBI Arrests Money Laundering Suspect Chandok Upon Arrival
Imagine a bad guy named Angad who lived in America and did some bad things like stealing money from people.
He got caught and sent to jail.
After doing his time in jail, he was sent back to India.
The CBI, which is like India's police, met him at the airport and arrested him because they also wanted to talk to him about his money problems.
He was running a sneaky system to move stolen money out of America and sending it to different countries.
The US government said that Angad helped move a lot of money, making it difficult to trace where it all came from.
Now, he's facing more questions about what he did.
Angad Singh Chandok was arrested by the CBI upon arrival in Delhi after being deported from the US.
Chandok, a 34-year-old, was convicted in the US for a large-scale money laundering scheme.
He was sentenced to six years in federal prison in March 2022.
Chandok's money laundering operation moved stolen funds out of the US to overseas accounts.
He laundered over $1.5 million, including $930,000 in one month.
