Non-Star Hotels Seek Benefits of Star Hotels in Andhra Pradesh
Imagine hotels that aren't officially rated, but are similar to fancy hotels, want the same perks.
The Andhra Pradesh Hotels and Restaurants Association talked to a government official.
They want the government to treat them like the nicer hotels when it comes to rules.
They explained that these hotels are just as good and help the state make money.
Right now, these hotels have to pay a lot for their licenses.
They want to pay the same amount as the nicer hotels and not have to enter a lottery for their licenses.
The government official said they would think about it.
Andhra Pradesh Hotels and Restaurants Association met with Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena.
They requested the extension of benefits from Go Ms No 131 to non-classified hotels.
The association stated that these hotels match 3-star hotels in service and contribute to tax revenues.
They seek the same license fee structure and exemption from the lottery system.
Meena assured the proposal would be examined for consideration.
