ED Attaches ₹1,268 Crore Goa Land in Fraud Case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Goa has attached 19 big pieces of land worth ₹1,268.63 crore.
These lands are in prime areas like Anjuna, Assagaon, and Ucassaim.
The ED says these lands were illegally taken by a group led by Shivshankar Mayekar.
They used fake documents to show they owned the land.
The ED had earlier seized bank accounts and other assets worth ₹12.85 crore.
The investigation started after the Goa Police filed a case against Yeshwant Sawant and others.
The accused used fake papers to change the land ownership and then sold parts of it.
The ED found that Mayekar was the main person behind this fraud.
He was arrested and is now in jail.
The ED is still investigating and has found more lands that might have been taken illegally.
ED attached 19 immovable properties in Goa worth ₹1,268.63 crore under PMLA.
Properties were illegally acquired using fabricated land title documents.
Shivshankar Mayekar is the key conspirator, arrested and in judicial custody.
ED seized and froze assets worth ₹12.85 crore in earlier operations.
Investigation revealed a systematic modus operandi involving fake documents and frontmen.
