India Nears 300 GW Non-Fossil Fuel Capacity Milestone
India is about to reach a big goal of having 300 GW of power from sources like solar and wind, which don't use fossil fuels.
This is a huge increase from 2014 when they had only 75 GW.
The minister, Pralhad Joshi, said this shows India is doing well in using clean energy.
They are also having a big meeting in November 2026 to talk about renewable energy and invite people from all over the world.
India is nearing 300 GW of installed non-fossil fuel power capacity.
Solar power capacity has grown from 2.8 GW in 2014 to 162 GW.
Wind energy capacity has increased from 21 GW to 57.4 GW.
Bioenergy capacity has risen from 8.1 GW to 12 GW.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 in New Delhi.
