Al Qaeda Evolves From 9/11 Attacks Toward Africa

Al Qaeda is an organization that carried out the September 11 attacks in the United States.

It was founded by Osama bin Laden.

Twenty-five years later, the group is weaker than it once was.

Several of its top leaders have died.

Another group, Islamic State, has also become more prominent.

However, al Qaeda has not disappeared.

Its connected groups, called affiliates, still operate in some regions.

These affiliates are expanding their influence in parts of Africa and South Asia.
