MP Forest Minister Addresses Tiger Deaths
The Minister of Forests in Madhya Pradesh, Dilip Ahirwar, talked to the media about tiger deaths and a big forest fair.
He said the government takes action when tigers die, but couldn't answer questions about why some tigers are dying or why people are cutting down special trees.
The forest fair will have lots of stalls with forest products, free health check-ups, and fun cultural programs.
People from India, Nepal, and Bhutan will also attend a special workshop during the fair.
Minister Dilip Ahirwar stated that the forest department takes action on every tiger death.
At least 54 tigers have died this year, with some deaths attributed to poachers.
The minister could not provide satisfactory answers regarding security lapses in tiger conservation or the cutting of sandalwood trees in protected areas.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the 11th International Forest Fair, featuring 350 stalls with forest produce, 50 OPD stalls, and cultural programs.
An international workshop will be held on December 19-20, attended by representatives from India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
