Send Help Leads January Box Office
This weekend, several new movies are coming out in theaters.
'Send Help,' a thriller directed by Sam Raimi, is expected to make the most money, around $25 million worldwide.
It's about a tech boss who gets stuck on an island with his accountant.
Rachel McAdams plays the accountant, Linda Liddle, who has to survive and outsmart her boss.
The movie has gory scenes and is a mix of thriller and dark humor.
Another movie, 'Iron Lung,' based on a video game, is also opening and could make around $10 million.
There's also an action movie called 'Shelter' with Jason Statham and a documentary about Melania Trump.
These movies are trying to do well at the box office after a bad storm last weekend affected many theaters.
Send Help expected to debut with $15M+ domestically and $10M+ internationally, totaling $25M globally.
Iron Lung, based on a video game, aims for a $9M-$10M opening with strong presales.
Shelter, starring Jason Statham, projected to open at $5M-$7M across 2,726 sites.
Melania, a documentary about the former First Lady, could debut with over $5M at 1,500 sites.
Paris Hilton's documentary Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir opens at 677 locations.
