Delhi Air Quality Plunges to 'Very Poor' Amid Toxic Smog
The air in Delhi became very dirty and smoky on Sunday, making it hard to see.
The pollution level, called AQI, went up to 366, which is considered 'very poor.'
Some places in Delhi were even worse, with pollution over 400, which is called 'severe.'
This dirty air is mostly caused by tiny particles called PM2.5.
For a while, the air was trapped close to the ground because there was almost no wind.
However, stronger winds later in the day helped to clear the air a little.
This pollution is especially bad for kids, old people, and anyone who has trouble breathing.
Tomorrow, the sky is expected to be clear, but there might be some fog in the morning.
Delhi's air quality index (AQI) surged to 366 on Sunday, categorized as 'very poor'.
Several areas, including Wazirpur, Burari, Vivek Vihar, and near AIIMS, recorded AQI levels in the 'severe' category (above 400).
Particulate Matter (PM2.5) was identified as the primary pollutant.
Dense morning fog and low wind speeds trapped pollutants close to the ground.
Winds improved slightly during the day, offering some relief, with forecasts predicting clear skies for Monday.
