Tripura Police Say Probe Into Former DGP’s Death Nears Completion

Police in Tripura are investigating the death of former police chief Anurag Dhankar.

The current police chief, GS Rao, said the investigation is moving quickly and should finish soon.

Dhankar was found dead in a washroom at police headquarters on July 20.

Chief Minister Manik Saha told the Assembly that the death was suicidal in nature.

Police also discussed border security with Bangladesh.

They said most of the border has been fenced, but some sections remain open because of difficult land and natural features.

Police are also preparing for Durga Puja.

More than 10,000 police and security personnel are expected to help keep celebrations safe.
