Chennai Airport to Offer Free Wi-Fi for International Passengers
Starting from the end of June, if you are a passenger at Chennai airport who is arriving from another country, the airport is rolling out free Wi-Fi services.
This is designed to help you get online, especially when you need to arrange transportation or make calls.
You will be able to use kiosks to get a special password, and access the internet for a set amount of time.
Passengers are hoping there will be enough kiosks so that they don't have to wait long after a long trip and that the airport will have clear signs about the service.
AAI is running this, and the plan is to provide better communication services for arriving international travelers.
Chennai Airport will provide free Wi-Fi to international passengers without Indian SIM cards.
Kiosks will be installed in the T2 International Terminal for accessing the service.
Passengers will receive a coupon with a One Time Password (OTP) to use the Wi-Fi.
The service will offer 500MB of data for 45 minutes per user.
Frequent flyers suggest the authorities provide clear signage and sufficient kiosks.
