Rahul Gandhi Calls for Supreme Court Probe into Student Protest Police Action
Rahul Gandhi, a leader in India’s Parliament, said that students who were hurt by police during a protest need justice.
He wants a special committee that the Supreme Court will watch to look into what happened.
He shared a video that shows police using batons and a man pushing a student with a flag.
Some opposition MPs also protested in front of Parliament, asking the government to explain why the police acted that way.
They also talked about money problems at a temple in Ayodhya.
The protest happened just before a big law about exam cheating was going to be discussed in Parliament.
Rahul Gandhi demanded an independent Supreme Court‑monitored committee to investigate alleged police brutality at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on July 20.
Opposition MPs staged a protest at Makar Dwar, Parliament, questioning police orders and demanding accountability from the Centre.
MPs also raised concerns over alleged embezzlement of donations to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
The protest occurred hours before the Rajya Sabha was set to debate the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
Rahul Gandhi shared a video showing police lathi‑charging demonstrators and a civil‑clad officer slamming a student protester carrying the Indian flag.
