Delhi High Court Upholds B.Ed (Special Education) Eligibility for TGT, PGT Posts
The Delhi High Court made a decision about teachers.
They said that people who have a special kind of teaching degree, called B.Ed (Special Education), can apply for certain teaching jobs, like TGT and PGT.
The government had said that this degree is different from the regular B.Ed degree and not the same.
But the court said that because the job advertisement didn't say only regular B.Ed degrees were allowed, the argument about which degree is better doesn't matter.
So, people with the special education degree can apply for these jobs too.
Delhi High Court upholds eligibility of B.Ed (Special Education) candidates for TGT, PGT posts.
Government argued that B.Ed (General) and B.Ed (Special Education) are distinct and non-equivalent.
Court observed that the debate on equivalence was misplaced as the recruitment notice did not limit eligibility.
The court clarified that the issue of comparing or equating the two degrees became irrelevant.
The decision allows B.Ed (Special Education) candidates to apply for TGT and PGT positions.
