Bobby Deol’s Villain Role Faces Criticism
Bobby Deol, once a hero in Bollywood movies, started playing bad guys after 2020.
He was famous for a scary role in the 2023 film Animal.
Critics say his recent bad‑guy parts in movies like Kanguva and Alpha are too simple and not interesting.
Fans feel his villains are not deep or real.
Even though his movies still make money, people want more creative stories for his characters.
Bobby Deol has become Bollywood’s go‑to villain after playing a mute psychopath in Animal (2023).
His earlier roles in Prakash Jha’s Aashram (2020) and Love Hostel (2022) marked a shift from hero to menacing cult leader and cold‑blooded killer.
Critics claim his recent antagonistic turns in Kanguva, Daaku Maharaj, Alpha (2026) and Jana Nayagan (2026) are generic and mechanically written.
Audiences feel his villainy lacks creative depth and organic threat, demanding more nuanced performances.
Despite commercial success, the narrative of his bad‑guy persona is at a crossroads.
