Kosovo President Nominates New PM Amid Political Deadlock
Kosovo's president has picked a new person, Glauk Konjufca, to be the prime minister.
This is because the politicians in charge can't agree on who should lead the country.
The president hopes this new choice will help them form a government.
If they don't, the country might have to have another election soon.
Not agreeing has stopped important work, like approving the budget and getting money from other countries.
The people who didn't like the last person picked are also saying they don't like this new person.
They think a new election is the best idea.
This political problem has been going on for a while.
Kosovo became its own country in 2008.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani nominated Glauk Konjufca as the new prime minister to break a political deadlock.
Opposition parties have rejected Konjufca's candidacy, viewing him as an ally of former caretaker prime minister Albin Kurti.
The nomination aims to prevent snap elections and allow for the approval of the state budget and international agreements.
Months of political deadlock have stalled reforms, infrastructure projects, and some international funding.
If parliament rejects Konjufca, President Osmani stated she would be forced to call a snap election.
