Madhya Pradesh: New Rules Limit Phone Tapping Powers
The rules for phone tapping in Madhya Pradesh have changed.
Before, IGs could easily tap phones, but now, they have to go through the ADG (Intelligence).
This is because of a new law that was created to prevent people from misusing phone tapping and reduce complaints about it.
Now, if an IG wants to tap a phone, they need to ask the ADG (Intelligence) and provide information about the person.
This change aims to make sure phone tapping is used more carefully and only when absolutely needed.
It's like adding extra steps to make sure a tool is used responsibly.
New directives issued in Madhya Pradesh restrict phone tapping.
The power of IGs to directly tap phones has been removed.
IGs must now send requests to the ADG (Intelligence).
Phone tapping is now governed under the Indian Telecommunications Act.
The changes aim to prevent misuse and reduce irregularities.
