Guntur Approves Rs 55,015 Crore Farm Credit Plan

Guntur has approved a large plan for lending money during the 2026–27 financial year.

The plan is worth Rs 55,015 crore.

Much of this money will support priority areas, including agriculture and related activities.

Banks were told to provide loans more freely to farmers and others in these sectors.

Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar said private banks were not doing enough to provide government-scheme benefits.

He warned that private banks could face serious consequences if this continued.

District officials and banking representatives discussed the plan at a meeting.

The goal is to make more credit and government support available to eligible people.
