Sircilla Boating Point Neglected Despite Costly Tourism Development
A boating place was built near Sircilla to attract visitors.
It was opened in August 2023, but the boat reportedly ran only on the opening day.
People have trouble reaching it because the road is poor and the site is three kilometres from the main road.
The area also does not have enough parking, toilets, drinking water or lights.
Water is available for boating only when the reservoir is full, mainly from July to December.
Tourism workers said they waited three months for visitors, but nobody came.
They said they asked officials for better roads and other facilities.
A separate plan to build an island near Ananthagiri has also not happened.
The Sircilla boating point at the Mid Manair reservoir has reportedly remained unused except on its inauguration day.
The facility was inaugurated on August 18, 2023, by K.T. Rama Rao and V. Srinivas Goud.
A three-kilometre access road is missing, making the site difficult to reach, especially during the rainy season.
