Uttarakhand Villagers Oppose Delay in Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra

In Uttarakhand, India, there's a big argument about when to hold a special religious trip called the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra.

This trip happens every 12 years, and the last one was in 2014.

The government wants to wait until 2027 to hold it again because they say they're too busy fixing things after natural disasters.

But the people who live in over 400 villages nearby want to have it this year as planned.

They even made a group to organize it themselves.

The government says they can't get everything ready in time, but the villagers are determined to go ahead with their plans.

They're going to have another meeting on January 23 to talk about it more.
