Heavy Vehicle Ban on Behala Road for Sewage Work
The Kolkata traffic police are stopping big trucks and other heavy vehicles from using a road called Santosh Roy Road for the next three months.
This is because workers need to dig up the road to put in new sewage pipes.
This road is important because it connects different parts of the city, like Behala and Diamond Harbour Road.
Buses that usually drive on this road will have to take different routes while the work is going on.
The police are also making sure that people don't park their cars illegally on the roads that are still open so that traffic can keep moving.
Kolkata traffic police banned heavy vehicles on Santosh Roy Road for three months.
The ban is due to the laying of sewage pipes by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
The road connects Behala's Sakherbazar to Diamond Harbour Road.
Multiple bus routes, like S-31 and AC-31, will be rerouted.
Police will prevent illegal parking on the remaining operational road.
