China Seeks Global Support in Taiwan Dispute

China is having a disagreement with Japan about Taiwan.

A top Chinese official, Wang Yi, called officials in France and the UK to ask for their support.

Wang said that Japan's Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, made some comments about Taiwan that China doesn't like.

China wants these countries to support its position on Taiwan and follow the one-China principle.

France's president, Emmanuel Macron, is going to visit China soon to talk about business.

China has also written to the United Nations to complain about Japan's comments.

Japan's prime minister has refused to take back her comments and said Japan would decide how to respond to any incidents based on the information available.
