Google Launches Offline AI Meeting Note-Taker for Mac
Google has made a Mac app called AI Edge Foresight that can help take meeting notes.
It can work without an internet connection because its AI runs on the computer.
People can write their own short notes and see AI-generated notes alongside them.
They can also ask the app questions while they are working.
Users can add documents and bookmarks so the app can search them for useful information.
Its AI helps find connections between those files and meeting notes.
The app is optimized for Apple silicon Macs.
Google may later release a consumer note-taking version that works across video-calling apps, but the article describes that as a possible future release.
Google released AI Edge Foresight, a Mac app that takes and analyzes meeting notes offline.
The app runs an on-device Gemma 2 model with 740 million parameters and is optimized for Apple silicon.
Users can combine shorthand notes with AI-generated notes and ask the assistant questions during meetings.
The app can ingest PDFs, Google Docs, Microsoft Office files, text, Markdown files and web bookmarks into a knowledge base.
EmbeddingGemma 2 helps retrieve and connect relevant information across meeting transcripts, notes and other files.
