Monitor Lizard Eggs Hatch After Being Found in Mumbai Drain
Imagine some workers cleaning a drain and finding some eggs!
They didn't know what kind of eggs they were, but they guessed they were from a reptile.
They asked for help from a wildlife group and forest people.
They put the eggs in a special box with soil and coconut stuff to keep them safe.
They used a bright light to see if the eggs were alive, and five of them were!
The box had to be the right temperature and humidity.
After a few months, the eggs hatched, and five baby lizards came out.
They let the baby lizards go back into the wild to live happily.
Ten monitor lizard eggs were found in a drain in Mulund, Mumbai.
An NGO and forest officials collaborated to incubate the eggs artificially.
