UPI volumes surge 34% in Q3
In the last three months, India saw a big increase in digital payments.
UPI transactions went up by 34% compared to last year, reaching 59.33 billion.
The total value of these transactions was ₹74.84 trillion.
More people are using UPI for small payments like buying food, transport, and healthcare.
There are now 709 million active UPI QR codes in India, which are used in small shops, pharmacies, and transport hubs.
Physical payment methods like credit and debit cards are still used for bigger purchases.
Credit card issuance increased by 35%, and online card transactions went up by 29%.
The company expects more people to use interoperable QR payments and credit-on-UPI in the future, especially in smaller towns.
