Sun Pharma Q1: Profit Down 20% Due to Exceptional Items
Sun Pharma, a drug company, announced its financial results for the first quarter.
Although revenue went up due to strong sales in India and from new medicines, the company's profit decreased by 20% because of settlement costs from a pricing lawsuit in the US and a loss from stopping a drug trial.
Sales in India grew strongly, and the company saw good results from its new medicines, particularly in the US.
Excluding the one-time charges, the company's profit actually increased.
Overall, Sun Pharma saw gains but faced some financial setbacks due to specific issues.
Sun Pharma's Q1 FY26 net profit decreased 20% to ₹2,279 crore.
Consolidated revenue increased 9.4% to ₹13,851 crore.
India formulation business grew 13.9% to ₹4,721 crore.
US formulation sales rose 1.4% to $473 million.
Adjusted net profit, excluding exceptional items, rose 6% to ₹2,996 crore.
