AAP and BJP Clash Over Yamuna Pollution After Chhath Puja
Imagine Delhi has a river that's usually very dirty.
During a big festival called Chhath Puja, one political party, AAP, says that another party, the BJP, secretly put in a pipe to make a small part of the river look clean with filtered water.
This made it seem like the river was clean for the people celebrating the festival.
After the festival was over, AAP says the BJP took the pipe away, and now the river is dirty again, just like before.
The BJP says that AAP is just admitting the river is back to how it was when AAP was in charge.
They also claim the river is actually a little cleaner now than it was under AAP.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the BJP of dismantling a pipeline that secretly supplied filtered water to create an artificial 'fake Yamuna' at Vasudev Ghat for Chhath Puja.
Bharadwaj alleged that the Yamuna has now returned to its polluted state, filled with sewage, after the alleged dismantling of the artificial setup.
The Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor retorted that AAP's statement admits the Yamuna has returned to the condition it was left in during AAP's governance.
Kapoor claimed that the Yamuna is currently 25-30% cleaner compared to the final months of the AAP government's rule.
The political parties are clashing over the river's pollution levels following the conclusion of the Chhath festival.

The BJP's actions were deceptive and aimed at creating an illusion of a clean river, with the subsequent dismantling an attempt to erase evidence.
