Chhattisgarh Police Claim Upper Hand in Anti-Insurgency Push

The police in Chhattisgarh, India, say they are winning against the Maoists, who are like rebels.

The government has set a deadline to end this problem by March 2026.

In 2025, 256 Maoists were killed in fights, and over 1,500 gave up and surrendered.

The police chief, Mr. Sinha, said their soldiers are doing well and asked the Maoists to stop fighting and come back to normal life.

He believes the Maoist problem will soon be over.

Recently, 14 Maoists were killed in fights in Bijapur and Sukma districts, and many weapons were taken by the police.

The police are also helping the surrendered Maoists to start a new life.
