Hyderabad Metro to Pilot Platform Barricades for Passenger Safety
Imagine your train station platform.
Sometimes, people stand very close to the edge, and it might be a little dangerous, especially when a fast train comes.
So, the metro in Hyderabad is going to try putting up fences, like little walls, on the platform.
They will first try this at one busy station to see if it helps keep everyone safe without causing problems.
If it works well, they might put these fences at other stations too.
This is to make sure everyone stays a safe distance from the moving trains.
Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) will install barricades on platforms to improve passenger safety.
The barricading will start as a pilot project on Platform No. 3 at Ameerpet HMR Station.
Ameerpet station is on the Nagole-Raidurg corridor and handles approximately 32,000 passengers daily.
HMR authorities aim to assess safety effectiveness and commuter convenience before a full rollout.
Passengers noted that commuters generally maintain a safe distance from the platform edge.
