Police Deny YSRCP Vijayawada Protests Over DSC Recruitment Claims
The YSRCP wanted to hold protests in Vijayawada.
The protests were about alleged problems in the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process and sports quota.
One planned march was to travel from Sikhamani Centre to the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh headquarters.
The party requested permission for about 100 people at 9 a.m.
Police did not approve the programmes.
They said some restrictions on public gatherings were already active.
They also said Ganesh immersion processions, busy roads and a shortage of officers could make the protests difficult to manage.
Police warned that people who break the orders could face legal action.
NTR district police denied YSRCP permission for protest programmes in Vijayawada, including a proposed September 21 procession.
The party sought to gather about 100 people at 9 a.m. and demand a CBI probe into alleged Mega DSC-2025 recruitment and sports quota irregularities.
Police cited prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Section 30 of the Police Act.
Authorities also pointed to Ganesh immersion processions, possible traffic disruptions and limited police personnel.
Police said the proposed route near Sikhamani Centre and Bandar Road could obstruct traffic and affect nearby institutions, offices and businesses.
