YSS Celebrates 133rd Birth Anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda
The Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) in Ranchi celebrated the 133rd birth anniversary of its founder, Paramahansa Yogananda, on January 5.
The day started with a special group meditation and a talk about Yogananda, which was livestreamed.
Later, there were bhajans (devotional songs), Guru puja (worship of the guru), and a yajna (ritual fire ceremony).
A big community meal, called a bhandara, was organized, and more than 10,000 people were served.
The YSS, which was founded in 1917, celebrates Yogananda's birth anniversary every year with these spiritual activities and community service.
