RBI Lifts Curbs on Religare Finvest; Capital Infusion
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has lifted the restrictions it had placed on Religare Finvest.
This means the company is no longer under special supervision.
The RBI made this decision after noting that Religare Finvest followed the rules and changed some of its leaders.
These restrictions started in 2018 due to some problems found earlier.
Now, Religare Finvest has also received a large investment from several investors, including the Burman family who are also the promoters of Dabur.
This money will help the company grow.
RBI has withdrawn the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) on Religare Finvest.
The withdrawal of CAP is effective immediately.
The RBI noted Religare Finvest's compliance with CAP conditions and the change in management.
The company was under CAP since January 18, 2018, due to irregularities observed in 2017.
REL secured a ₹1,500 crore growth capital commitment from investors including the Burman family of Dabur.
