Nizamabad Collector Inspects Rice Mills Amidst Paddy Delivery Delays
The leader of Nizamabad, Collector Reddy, was upset because farmers were having trouble delivering their rice crop.
He found out that rice mills weren't taking the paddy off the trucks quickly enough, so the trucks were waiting for days.
This made the farmers who brought the paddy wait even longer and also put the rice at risk of getting ruined if it rained.
The Collector called the transport company to send more trucks right away and told the rice mill managers that they needed to unload the paddy faster.
He warned them that if they didn't follow instructions, there could be consequences.
Nizamabad Collector T. Vinay Krishna Reddy inspected R.K. Rice Mill following reports of paddy delivery delays.
Farmers and procurement centre organizers reported that coarse variety paddy had not been unloaded at mills for several days.
The Collector directed the transport contractor to immediately send sufficient lorries to procurement centers, threatening contract cancellation.
Upon inspecting R.K. Rice Mill, the Collector found several lorries loaded with paddy waiting for five to six days to be unloaded.
