Delhi Tightens Security Ahead of CJP Jantar Mantar Protest

The Cockroach Janta Party planned a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

The protest is directed at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Protesters want him to resign and want a voter-list revision exercise stopped.

They say there were problems with how voter lists were changed.

They also allege that a voter registration form was changed without the involvement of two other election commissioners.

Delhi Police prepared for thousands of people to attend.

Around 25,000 police and paramilitary personnel were deployed, and police reportedly detained about 500 people.

Police asked their personnel to use maximum restraint.
