Jubilee Hills Bypoll Sees Low Turnout Amidst Allegations
People in Jubilee Hills voted to choose their new representative for the assembly.
Not many people voted, less than half of those eligible, which is similar to past elections.
Interestingly, people from poorer neighborhoods voted more than those from rich areas.
There were some arguments between political parties, with one party accusing another of trying to cheat.
However, despite these claims, the voting went on, and no one had to vote again.
Many arrangements were made to help people vote, like wheelchairs and assistance desks, and even famous people like director S.S. Rajamouli voted.
But even with many efforts to get people to vote, the numbers remained low, especially among wealthier residents.
The final vote count will happen later.
The Jubilee Hills Assembly byelection recorded an overall polling percentage of 48.47%.
Voter turnout was higher in lower-income colonies compared to affluent neighborhoods.
Allegations of model code of conduct violations and vote rigging were made by political parties, primarily between BRS and Congress.
Despite skirmishes and complaints, no repolling was ordered, and voting concluded within the scheduled hours.
Notable attendees at polling stations included film director S.S. Rajamouli and various government officials.
