Thane Civic Body Launches Campaign to Recover Water Bill Dues
The city of Thane is trying to get people to pay their water bills.
They owe a lot of money, about 250 crore rupees!
To get the money, the city is starting a campaign.
They will turn off water for people who don't pay.
They can also take away water pumps or lock up the place where the water meter is.
If someone turns their water back on after it was shut off, they will get in trouble.
The city wants to collect all the money owed this year.
Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has initiated a campaign to recover Rs 250 crore in water bill dues.
The outstanding amount includes Rs 92.28 crore in arrears and Rs 157.8 crore for the current financial year.
Recovery efforts involve disconnecting water connections, seizing motor pumps, and sealing meter rooms.
