Man arrested for killing live-in partner before wedding

A man named Bilal from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for killing his live-in partner, Uma, just days before his wedding.

Bilal and Uma had been in a relationship for two years, and she had been pressuring him to marry her.

When Bilal's marriage was arranged, he feared that Uma would tell his family about their relationship, which would have caused problems.

On December 6, Bilal picked up Uma from Saharanpur and drove around looking for a place to commit the crime.

He eventually chose the Kalesar National Park area in Haryana.

He strangled Uma in his car and then dumped her body by the roadside, decapitating her to make it harder to identify her.

The police found the body on December 7 and started investigating.

They used CCTV footage, mobile phone location tracking, and the car's registration number to trace Bilal.

The police arrested Bilal on December 13, just a day before his wedding.

Based on his confession, the police recovered the severed head from a gorge near Laldhang in the Kalesar forest area on December 15.
