Varanasi Rope-Car Project for 2026 Launch
The city of Varanasi in India is building a new rope-car system to help people get around more easily.
This rope-car will connect the train station to a very important temple called Shri Kashi Vishwanath.
The project costs a lot of money (Rs 800 crore) and is expected to be finished by May 2026.
The rope-car will be able to carry about 2 lakh people every day.
Each gondola (the cars that hang from the cable) can hold 10 people, and there will be 148 gondolas in total.
The ride will take about 15-20 minutes.
The city is also working on improving other ways to get around, like using boats on the river and adding electric buses.
This is all part of a big plan to make Varanasi a better place to live and visit.
Construction of a rope-car service in Varanasi to connect the railway station to Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple is underway.
The project is expected to cost Rs 800 crore and be completed by May 2026.
The rope-car will have a daily capacity of 2 lakh pilgrims, with 148 gondolas each carrying 10 people.
The 4-km route will take about 15-20 minutes to travel, with an expected daily ridership of 1 lakh people.
