Jal Jeevan Mission Brings Tap Water to Dandjamdi
People in Dandjamdi used to walk to a faraway well to get water.
Now, all 90 homes in the village have taps.
Clean drinking water is available through those taps.
Lalita Wakre said this has made daily life easier for her family.
The change can save people, especially women, time and effort.
The village council will help keep the water system working.
Residents have also been encouraged to save water and protect local sources.
The project is part of the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to bring tap water to rural homes.
All 90 households in Dandjamdi gram panchayat now have household tap connections.
The clean drinking-water supply is operational, replacing residents’ reliance on a distant well.
Resident Lalita Wakre said having water at home has eased her family’s daily routine.
The gram panchayat is responsible for operating and maintaining the water system.
Villagers have received guidance on water management, conservation, rainwater harvesting and protecting local sources.
