Louvre Faces Infrastructure Issues After Water Leak
There was a water leak in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
This leak damaged about 300 to 400 books in the Egyptian antiquities department.
These books are used by experts who study ancient Egypt.
The museum knew about the problem for a long time but didn't fix it.
They plan to repair the pipes in 2026.
This is not the first problem at the Louvre.
Recently, thieves stole expensive jewels, and some parts of the museum had to close because of structural issues.
A report said the museum spends too much money on art and not enough on fixing its buildings.
The museum is also raising ticket prices to fund these repairs.
A water leak damaged 300-400 books in the Louvre's Egyptian antiquities department.
The books affected were used by Egyptologists and not precious ones.
The problem had been known for years, with repairs scheduled for September 2026.
Recent issues include a $102 million jewel heist and structural weaknesses.
The Louvre plans to raise ticket prices for non-EU visitors to fund structural improvements.
