MMRDA Approves ₹168 Crore Four-Lane Mothagaon Flyover in Dombivli to Ease Traffic
Imagine a busy train track crossing in Dombivli that causes long traffic jams for cars going between Thane and Dombivli.
The MMRDA, a city planning group, has decided to build a new, wider bridge over these train tracks.
This new bridge will have four lanes, which is more than before, to help more cars pass through.
It will cost about 168 crore rupees.
Some people will need to move because of the bridge, and the city is planning to give them money and new places to live.
This new bridge should make driving between Thane and Dombivli much faster, cutting down the time people spend stuck in traffic.
The plan is to start building it soon after getting the money approved.
MMRDA has approved a ₹168 crore budget for a four-lane flyover at Dombivli's Mothagaon railway crossing.
The project includes land acquisition (₹30 crore) and approach road construction/resettlement (₹138 crore).
Approximately 600 residents will be displaced and require resettlement as part of the project.
The flyover aims to significantly reduce travel time and ease traffic congestion on the Retibandar-Mankoli corridor.
Construction is expected to begin within months after administrative approval for fund release.
