DMK Supports Women's Reservation Bill with Conditions

DMK Supports Women's Reservation Bill with Conditions

The DMK, a political party in India, wants the government to make a clear plan for a law that reserves 33% of seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies for women.

They want this reservation to be based on the current number of seats.

The DMK also has concerns about a process called delimitation, which redraws the boundaries of electoral constituencies.

They think this process might hurt southern states and want it to be delayed for 25 years if that happens.

The DMK leader, Tiruchi Siva, raised these points at a meeting with all political parties before the start of the Monsoon session of Parliament.
