Yogi Says Bhadohi Artisans Can Find Work At Home
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath opened a major carpet exhibition in Sant Ravidas Nagar.
It runs from October 4 to 7 and brings together hundreds of exhibitors and buyers from many countries.
He said carpet makers can now find opportunities in their home region instead of leaving for work.
He credited a government program with helping artisans access technology, designs and markets.
He also said carpets from Bhadohi are sold around the world.
According to the chief minister, the carpet industry provides direct work to more than five lakh people.
He said better roads, transport and security are helping businesses.
The exhibition gives makers a place to show their products to buyers.
Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the India Carpet Expo’s golden jubilee edition in Sant Ravidas Nagar, running October 4–7.
About 250 exhibitors and more than 450 foreign buyers from 65 countries are participating, including 106 buyers from BRICS countries.
Adityanath said the One District-One Product scheme connected Bhadohi carpet artisans with technology, design and markets.
He said Sant Ravidas Nagar has 2,500 MSME units, carpet exports worth Rs 6,100 crore from the district and silk cluster, and more than five lakh direct jobs in the industry.
He credited improved security and connectivity for business growth, and cited state investment proposals of Rs 50 lakh crore.
