Leaders and Public Honour Immanuel Sekaran in Paramakudi

People gathered in Paramakudi to remember Immanuel Sekaran on the 69th anniversary of his death.

His daughter and other family members placed a wreath at his memorial.

Many ministers, legislators and political party representatives also paid tribute.

The memorial and statue were decorated with flowers.

Udhayanidhi Stalin said Sekaran fought caste discrimination and worked for equal rights, education and economic freedom.

Other leaders used the gathering to criticise the government’s decisions and finances.

Vanni Arasu said a law against honour killings would be introduced soon.

Seeman also demanded action after a Sri Lankan Tamil refugee was allegedly beaten at a rehabilitation camp.
