Pradhan Resigns Amid NEET-UG Controversy
A lot of students were upset because they thought there was a leak in a very important exam called NEET-UG.
They started protesting and asked the Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, to step down.
A group called CJP led the protests.
A famous activist, Sonam Wangchuk, even went on a hunger strike for 26 days to support the students.
After more than a month of protests, the Education Minister finally resigned.
The protesters are happy because they think they won, but they still want the government to give money to the families of students who died because of the exam stress and to punish the police who acted badly during the protests.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned amid protests over alleged NEET-UG paper leak and examination irregularities.
Protests led by CJP and supported by activist Sonam Wangchuk lasted over two months at Jantar Mantar, Delhi.
Pradhan's resignation followed a 26-day hunger strike by Sonam Wangchuk and assurances from the government.
CJP demands one crore rupees compensation for families of students who died by suicide due to the NEET paper leak.
Pradhan resigned to prevent the agitation from being exploited by anti-national elements and to focus on students' education.
