RBI Bulk FD Rules Bring Daily Disclosure From October 1

RBI Bulk FD Rules Bring Daily Disclosure From October 1

The Reserve Bank of India is changing how banks show interest rates for very large fixed deposits.

The new rules begin on October 1.

Banks must put their bulk-deposit rates on their websites every working day.

They must publish the rates by 10 AM, with a 10-minute update window.

Banks must use the rate they announced before a qualifying deposit was made.

This helps big depositors compare rates before investing their money.

Most ordinary customers with smaller fixed deposits will not be affected.

Banks can still set different rates based on their funding and liquidity needs.
