Capital SFB CEO on new RBI fixed deposit pricing rules

Capital SFB CEO on new RBI fixed deposit pricing rules

Banks are like big piggy banks where grown-ups keep their money.

When you put money in a bank, the bank promises to give it back later with a little extra called interest.

In India, a group called the RBI is the boss of all banks.

The RBI made new rules about how banks set interest rates on fixed deposits, starting October 1.

One bank, Capital Small Finance Bank, says the new rules will not change much for it.

That is because it already offers the same rates everywhere and does not fight with other banks by raising rates.

This bank mostly gets money from regular people, not big companies.

It also keeps much more spare money saved than the rules require.

The new rules should make it easier for people to compare rates at different banks, like comparing prices at different shops.
