PCB Mandates Domestic Play for Centrally-Contracted Cricketers
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which runs cricket in Pakistan, has made a new rule.
Now, players who are paid by the PCB have to play in domestic cricket matches when they aren't busy with international games.
The goal is to make the local cricket better and help young players learn from experienced ones.
The PCB thinks this will help players get ready for international matches.
They're also planning to give out new contracts to players for the years 2025 and 2026.
Also, a recent domestic tournament called the Champions Cup has been canceled.
The PCB made it mandatory for centrally-contracted players to play at least one domestic event.
This decision aims to improve the quality of players.
Domestic players will have the opportunity to play alongside international players.
The PCB will start issuing new central contracts for 2025-26.
The Champions Cup competition has been scrapped for the coming season.
